Though Aussies do tend to pick "their person", we feel Aussies are the ideal family dog! They're more than willing to spend the day rough housing, exploring, and swimming with the kids, but will also just as happily spend the day working hard with the adults, whether it be herding cattle and following horses, or sitting by the desk for longs hours and just being the ideal companion.
Australian Shepherds are one of the most loyal of breeds, known to be wary of strangers they should be watchful of you but also be willing to accept your judgement. They are intuitive creatures and are very adapt to feeling and reading our emotions. Highly intelligent they are a very easy to train and excel in agility, herding, and learning new things in general.
